Why is Hugh a teetotaler?

As was stated in Hugh's bio, he has an extremely fast acting and thourough metabolism.  This extremely efficient metabolism means that when Hugh drinks, not only does his liver absorb more alcohol; it absorbs it faster, doing tremendous damage to the organ.  Of course with his regeneration Hugh could regrow his liver many tens of times quicker than a human could, but the process of destroying and rebuilding your liver is extremely unpleasant, and the alchohol just is not worth it.
